About This Resource

I'm Amanda Brooks, a certified canine nutritionist who has spent 12 years formulating joint supplements and raw diets for working dogs. This site exists because I got tired of the misinformation in the pet supplement industry.

You won't find affiliate links here. I'll tell you which products work, which are overpriced, and what I actually give my own Border Collies and Aussies.

Joint Health Guides

New in the guides: reading a breed profile shows what a dog's design, from the cocker spaniel's frame upward, predicts about its joints.

New in the guides: single-gene tests vs polygenic disease sorts what breed genetics can and cannot promise.

Fresh on the shelf: reading morphology across breeds connects outline, coat, size and temperament to the joint load each build carries.

Just added: the MDR1 mutation test explains which herding breeds carry it and how to test before medicating.

New this month: the daily routine that protects joints covers feeding, exercise and grooming around one dog's real day.

Just added: your dog's heart explained simply defines the pump, the pulse and the numbers in plain language.
